Mini sausage rolls

Looking for the tastiest recipes for kids or want to make a quick snack on the Big Green Egg? These delicious mini sausage rolls are always a hit! You use ready-made sausages and puff pastry for them, so the rolls will be ready in no time. Put them together while your kamado heats up and all you have to do is bake the rolls.
INGREDIENTS
Rolls
- 3 slices of puff pastry (approx. 10 x 10 cm, fresh or frozen)
- 4 thick frankfurters
- 1 egg yolk

- ketchup
- sweet popcorn
IN ADVANCE
- Light the charcoal in the Big Green Egg and, with the heat shield and stainless steel grid in place, heat it to a temperature of 200°C. In the meantime, allow the puff pastry to defrost if you are using frozen puff pastry.
- Drain the sausages well and cut each sausage into three equal pieces. Cut each slice of puff pastry into strips slightly narrower than the sliced sausage.
- Beat the egg yolk with a splash of water in a small bowl. Brush the puff pastry with the egg yolk.
- Place a piece of sausage on a strip of puff pastry and roll the sausage in the dough. Repeat with the rest of the dough strips and pieces of sausage. Brush the dough with beaten egg yolk.
METHOD
- Cut a circle of baking paper slightly smaller than the pizza stone and place it on the cold stone. Place the sausage rolled in dough on top of this place it on the grill. Close the lid of the EGG and bake the mini sausage rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove the rolls from the EGG and place them on a plate. Squirt ketchup on top to taste and sprinkle the popcorn all around.
